Scaffold Hire Central Coast
Groundbreakers Plant Hire hires scaffold across the Central Coast from our Koolewong yard, covering mobile aluminium towers, specialist stairwell setups, and dry hire, with delivery, install, relocation, and dismantle handled by our team. We’re one of the few local yards that also builds stairwell scaffold access, alongside the mobile towers most jobs need. Builders, renovators, painters, and property owners use us for a job of any size. Call 0405 082 750 to talk through what you need and book your hire.
Groundbreakers is Central Coast scaffolding done properly — scaffold hire, delivery, install, and pickup handled by the same local team on every job, whether that’s a straight tower or a custom stairwell build.
Scaffold hire options (towers, stairwell, dry hire overview)
Whatever the job, we set you up with the right scaffold and the right service level. Choose a mobile aluminium tower for quick, relocatable access on renovations, painting jobs, and general maintenance. Choose a stairwell setup when the job includes stair access, our specialty, and the section most general hire yards can’t help with. Or take dry hire, where you collect and erect the gear yourself, if you’ve got an experienced crew and just need the equipment.
Every hire starts with a phone call. Tell us the job and we’ll recommend the right scaffold, confirm what’s included, and arrange delivery from our yard at 60 Glenrock Parade, Koolewong, or install straight on site. We deliver, install, relocate, and dismantle scaffold across Gosford, Woy Woy, Terrigal, Wyong, Tuggerah, and Berkeley Vale, so you’re not left managing set-up and pack-down on top of the job itself.
This page covers the full range: mobile aluminium towers below, our stairwell scaffold specialty further down, and the practical detail on dry hire, delivery, and service area that follows.
Mobile aluminium scaffold towers
Our mobile aluminium scaffold towers are the option most Central Coast jobs reach for. They’re lightweight, quick to erect, and easy to relocate around a site as the job moves, which makes them the practical choice for painters working room to room, renovators working across multiple areas, and anyone doing general maintenance at height.
Towers come in a range of heights and configurations, and we’ll help you pick the right one for the ceiling height, access, and load you’re working with. Full specifications, working heights, and pricing are covered on our dedicated mobile aluminium scaffold towers page. For longer-term or day-rate hire options, see our mobile scaffold hire page as well.
If your job needs help erecting a fold-up mini scaffold safely, our step-by-step erecting guide walks through the process.
Stairwell scaffold hire
Stairs are the part of a scaffold job most general hire yards don’t want to touch. A straight run of scaffold against a flat wall is simple. A stairwell is not: the treads change level every few hundred millimetres, the void in the middle needs to stay clear or be properly boarded, and standard tower configurations don’t sit flush against an angled stringer. Get it wrong and you’ve got an access platform that’s unsafe to stand on, let alone work from.
Stairwell scaffold hire is our specialty, and something most Central Coast hire yards simply don’t offer. We build a scaffold structure specifically shaped to the stairwell, stepping the platforms to follow the stair line, boarding out the void safely, and fixing the whole structure so it’s stable to work from at every level. It’s common on double-storey renovations where painters or plasterers need safe access to a stairwell wall and ceiling, on new-build stair voids before the balustrade goes in, and on older Central Coast homes around Brisbane Water where the original stair opening is narrow and awkward to work around.
Because every stairwell is a different shape, we don’t hire out a generic tower and hope it fits. Our team assesses the stairwell on site or from your plans, builds the scaffold to suit the actual dimensions, and installs it so it’s ready to work from safely, with relocation and dismantle handled once the job’s done. If you’ve been quoted a standard tower for a stairwell job and it didn’t seem right, that’s usually because it isn’t. This is the gap we built our stairwell service to close.
Can you do scaffold for a stairwell?
Yes. Stairwell scaffold hire is our specialty. We build the scaffold to fit the actual shape of the stairwell rather than hiring out a standard tower, and we install, relocate, and dismantle it as part of the service.
If your renovation, new build, or repaint includes a stairwell, call 0405 082 750 and describe the space. We’ll tell you straight away whether it’s a standard stairwell setup or needs a custom configuration, and what that means for timing and cost.
Dry hire vs delivered and installed
Not every job needs a full install. Dry hire means we supply the mobile tower or scaffold components and you collect, erect, and dismantle it yourself, which works well if you’ve got an experienced crew, know the gear, and just need the equipment for a set number of days. It’s the cheaper option and the quickest to book, since there’s no install crew to schedule around.
Delivered and installed hire is the other end: we deliver the scaffold to site, erect it to the height and configuration you need, relocate it as the job moves across the site, and dismantle it and take it away once you’re done. This is the option most stairwell jobs need, since stairwell access has to be built to fit the space rather than assembled from a standard kit, and it’s also the safer choice for anyone without scaffold-erection experience or working at height without the right training.
Do you deliver and set up the scaffold, or is it dry hire?
Both. You can dry hire a mobile tower and collect it yourself, or book a full delivered and installed service where we erect, relocate, and dismantle the scaffold for you. Most stairwell jobs use the full install service, since stairwell scaffold has to be built to fit the space.
Not sure which suits your job? Tell us what you’re working on when you call, and we’ll tell you honestly whether dry hire is enough or whether you’re better off with a full install.
How scaffold hire works: delivery, install, relocate, dismantle
Booking scaffold hire is simple. Call 0405 082 750 and tell us the job: what it’s for, how long you need it, and whether it includes a stairwell. We’ll recommend the right scaffold, confirm the rate, and arrange delivery from our yard at 60 Glenrock Parade, Koolewong NSW 2256, or a full install on site if that’s what the job needs.
Once the scaffold’s up, we can relocate it as the job moves through different areas of the site, and we’ll come back to dismantle and collect it once you’re finished.
How much does scaffold hire cost on the Central Coast?
Scaffold hire pricing depends on the type of scaffold, how long you need it, and whether you want dry hire or a full delivered and installed service. Call 0405 082 750 and describe your job for an exact quote.
Areas we cover
We deliver, install, and collect scaffold across Gosford, Woy Woy, Terrigal, Wyong, Tuggerah, and Berkeley Vale, plus the areas around them. If you’re just outside this list, call us, most nearby areas are still within reach.
For mobile aluminium tower hire, we also deliver further afield into Sydney and the Northern Beaches. If you’re outside the Central Coast and need a tower rather than a full stairwell install, ask when you call and we’ll confirm whether your address is within delivery range.
What areas do you cover for scaffold hire?
Our core scaffold hire area is Gosford, Woy Woy, Terrigal, Wyong, Tuggerah, and Berkeley Vale. We also deliver mobile aluminium towers further afield into Sydney and the Northern Beaches on request.
Other areas we serve: we have dedicated pages for mobile scaffold tower hire in Northern Sydney, covering Mosman, Lane Cove, Ryde, the Northern Beaches, North Sydney, Willoughby, Ku-ring-gai and Hornsby, and for plant, scaffold and trailer hire in Lake Macquarie. Mobile scaffold towers are the one service we take all the way into Northern Sydney; excavator, trailer and wet hire stay Central Coast-based.
Scaffold parts and safety
Need parts rather than a full hire, mobile scaffold parts like frames, braces, and platforms are available separately. See our mobile scaffold parts guide for what’s involved.
Safety is non-negotiable on any scaffold, whether it’s a tower or a stairwell setup. Load limits, correct bracing, and stable ground contact all matter, and responsibility is shared between our team setting the scaffold up correctly and yours using it safely. Our guide to safely operating a mobile scaffold tower and our mobile scaffold SOP cover this in full.
These requirements align with SafeWork NSW’s scaffolding safety guidance.
