Stairs are the part of a scaffold job most general hire yards don’t want to touch. A straight run of scaffold against a flat wall is simple. A stairwell is not: the treads change level every few hundred millimetres, the void in the middle needs to stay clear or be properly boarded, and standard tower configurations don’t sit flush against an angled stringer. Get it wrong and you’ve got an access platform that’s unsafe to stand on, let alone work from.

This is the option most stairwell jobs need, since stairwell access has to be built to fit the space rather than assembled from a standard kit, and it’s also the safer choice for anyone without scaffold-erection experience or working at height without the right training.
